Focused All Cap Equity

Palisade’s Focused All Cap Equity strategy is led by Senior Portfolio Manager Will Potter with the support of Analyst Mark Berman. Our objective is to invest in a diversified, yet focused portfolio of well-managed companies in all capitalization ranges. Through fundamental research, we seek to narrow the universe down to a portfolio typically comprised of 20-30 compounders of shareowner value. We prefer portfolio company management teams that distinguish themselves through continuous operational improvement, highly-competitive corporate strategies, and disciplined/effective deployment of capital. Palisade’s Focused All Cap Equity strategy is currently available through separately managed accounts.

Small Cap Core Equity

Led by Senior Portfolio Manager Marc Shapiro, Palisade’s experienced four-member Small Cap Core Equity team utilizes a research-intensive, disciplined investment process that integrates bottom-up fundamental stock research with a conviction-weighted approach to portfolio construction. This patient investment approach seeks outperformance regardless of market environment. Palisade’s Small Cap Core Equity portfolios are available through separately managed accounts, subadvised mutual fund engagements, a collective investment trust, and various wrap, SMA and UMA platforms.

Convertible Securities

Palisade's six-member Convertible Securities team, led by Senior Portfolio Manager Bill Lee, is responsible for managing our Convertible Securities (CS), Short Duration Convertible Bond (SDCB), and Hedged Convertibles (HC) portfolios. Our team’s extensive experience, discipline through market cycles, and strong equity research help distinguish Palisade from our peers. CS portfolios are available through separate accounts and subadvised mutual fund engagements, SDCB portfolios are available through separate accounts, and HC portfolios are available through separate accounts and a private fund (available only to Accredited Investors).

Since 1997, Palisade has raised five private equity funds totaling over $400 million in capital. Our Private Equity funds seek to achieve attractive total returns through investments in small-to middle-market private and out-of-favor small public companies that represent “special situations” or growth opportunities. Palisade’s private equity funds are currently fully invested and are no longer open to new investors.

Palisade Mourns the Loss of Founder Martin L. Berman

We are very sad to announce that Palisade Capital Management Founder Martin L.  Berman, 77, passed away unexpectedly last night after a brief illness that emerged only a few days ago.  We send our deepest condolences to Marty’s family.

Palisade has lost an inspired leader and a great friend.  Marty treated each of Palisade’s clients and employees like family, and his unparalleled commitment to the firm and its clients will be greatly missed.  Marty leaves behind a strong legacy that will inspire us forever.

While Marty’s passing was unexpected, he worked tirelessly over the past several years to ensure Palisade’s continuity and success in the future.  The firm will continue to be led by President Alison Berman, Vice Chairman Jack Feiler, Chief Investment Officer Dan Veru, and Palisade’s Operating Committee and Board of Directors, who together with all of Palisade’s employees are committed to honoring Marty’s memory by continuing to grow our Firm and serving our clients with distinction.

Alison Berman Named President of Palisade Capital Management

Alison Berman, a member of Palisade’s Board of Directors and Chairperson of the Firm’s Operating Committee, was named President of Palisade effective January 1, 2018. Alison joined Palisade in 2011 as Associate General Counsel, initially managing and overseeing various legal functions at the Firm. She has subsequently worked closely with all of the Firm’s operational groups, including compliance, risk management, operations, client service, and human resources on various Firm initiatives, and has fostered a strong collaboration across the Firm’s various functional areas. Alison played a key role in establishing Palisade’s Operating Committee, which formulates and implements Palisade’s strategic vision and works to develop the Firm’s next generation of senior leadership. She has also served as a Director of several portfolio companies owned by private equity funds managed by Palisade. Prior to joining Palisade, Ms. Berman was an attorney in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she represented a variety of corporate and private equity clients in buy-side and sell-side transactions. Ms. Berman was involved in both contested and negotiated transactions, and worked on deals ranging from small private equity acquisitions to $50 billion public company sales. Ms. Berman received her Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Brown University.
