Palisade Capital Management’s Board of Directors appointed President Alison Berman to the additional roles of Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chairman of the firm’s Board of Directors, effective May 21, 2018. Concurrent with Ms. Berman’s promotion, Chief Investment Officer Dan Veru was named Co-Chairman of the firm’s Board of Directors, and Managing Director of Private Wealth Management Michael Feiler joined the Board as a voting member. These promotions were consistent with Palisade’s succession plan and occurred after the unexpected passing of Palisade Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO Martin Berman in April 2018.
Palisade Co-Founder and Vice Chairman Jack Feiler commented “Although I will miss my dear friend and the special relationship that we had, the firm will continue to embody Marty’s ethos that relationships and communication with clients are just as important as delivering superior performance results. I have confidence that the entire Palisade team will further Marty’s legacy, a legacy that grew a small company with a staff of five individuals to a world class investment management organization with more than $3.7 billion of assets under management across Institutional and Private Wealth Management business lines.”
Ms. Berman joined Palisade in 2011 and previously served as President of the firm. Over the past several years, she has worked closely with all of the firm’s operational groups, including compliance, risk management, operations, client service, and human resources on various firm initiatives, and fostered strong collaboration across the firm’s various functional areas. Ms. Berman played a key role in establishing Palisade’s Operating Committee, of which she will continue to serve as Chairman. Ms. Berman received her Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Brown University.
Mr. Veru serves as Palisade’s Chief Investment Officer and is a member of the firm’s Investment and Operating Committees. In his capacity as CIO, Mr. Veru has oversight responsibilities for all of Palisade’s investment strategies, including the firm’s institutional Small Cap Core Equity, Convertible Securities, Hedged Convertibles, and Short Duration Convertible Bond portfolios. More recently, Mr. Veru assisted with the development and launch of the firm’s Focused All Cap Equity and Hedged Equity strategies, and he continues to work with the firm’s Institutional clients to develop innovative investment solutions. Mr. Veru joined Palisade in 2000 and received his undergraduate degree from Franklin & Marshall College.
Mr. Feiler, Managing Director of Private Wealth Management and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee, has worked at the firm since its founding in 1995. Along with his partner Jack Feiler, Mr. Feiler is responsible for developing relationships and managing accounts within the Private Wealth Management group, focusing on the next generation of the firm’s clients. Mr. Feiler is currently leading efforts to expand the firm’s Private Wealth Management offerings and working closely with the firm’s Operating Committee and across various functional areas to develop and implement Palisade’s business initiatives. Mr. Feiler received his B.S. in Business Administration and Certification in Health Care Management from SUNY – Stony Brook, and has earned a Certificate of Completion in Financial Planning from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
